1. Introduction
---------------
If you use the internet you will probably have many accounts with as many passwords.
Remembering all these passwords can be difficult, especially for accounts you do not
use frequently. For this purpose we created a utility for storing these passwords
into a password protected safe. You can create as many safes as you like, e.g. for
your internet passwords, for your networking passwords and so on.
2. What is changed in each version
----------------------------------
Changes in version 1.8 (may 2004):
- Deletion of an account did not delete the URL of that account, resulting in
wrong URL's with some accounts.
This is fixed.
Changes in version 1.7 (december 2002):
- A check is added if the '~' is used in any of the account information
fields.
This causes a 'list index out of bounds' error.
Changes in version 1.6 (oktober 2002):
- If you open a safe the information of a previously opened safe
is cleared. So other
owners cannot see the password of the previous owner.
Changes in version 1.5 (december 2001):
- Instead of clicking the 'open safe' button you can hit enter
after selecting a safe
to open it.
Changes in version 1.4 (november 2001):
- The maximum length of the fields 'userid' and 'password' for
an account is raised
to 50 characters.
- An URL for an account can be added. The URL is shown when an
account is selected.
Only the first 45 characters of the URL are shown. Clicking on
the URL opens it
in your default browser.
- It's not allowed to use the ~ (tilde) character in account information!
This character is used internally as a field separator.
- The content of the selected safe can be printed. Passwords can
be included in the
report!
- The look of the program has changed slightly, just for fun....
Changes in version 1.3 (september 2001):
- You can now sort the accounts within a safe. This feature was
requested by some users.
- If you want to edit the password of a safe you have to enter
the original password
for that safe first.
Changes in version 1.2 (july 2001):
- If you want to delete an entire safe you have to enter the password
for that safe.
This extra protection was requested by many users.
Changes in version 1.1 (june 2001):
- It's now possible to let the program stay on top of other programs.
- The userid and password fields in the 'opened safe' window are
now readonly edit fields
which makes it easier to copy the text to the clipboard.
- The userid and password fields can also be copied to the clipboard
by clicking
a button next to the fields.
